The Westside Company Steps Up its Efforts to Give Back to the Westside Community

Santa Monica, CA, May 19, 2009 –The Westside Company (www.thewestsidecompany.com), a consortium of small businesses in Santa Monica, is increasing its giving to the Westside community by appointing Christine Gutierrez to its newly created Community Partnership Coordinator post. Christine’s objective is to identify opportunities for schools and organizations in need of funding and resources.

For thirty years the founders and staff of The Westside Company’s service business have been donating their time and money in support of building a caring Westside community and being a great community collaborator. “We believe in supporting programs and schools that teach elementary, middle and high school students about how to be active citizens in their communities and to make a difference,†said founder and lifetime Westside resident and Santa Monica City Officer Eric Faber.

Faber decided to take The Westside Company’s community involvement one step further by dedicating a full-time person to the task. As the parent of a Lincoln Middle School student and a professional with over ten years of client relations and business development experience in the private sector, Christine Gutierrez was a natural fit.

The majority of giving is centered around two programs: The Silent Auction Package and The Profit Share programs. The Silent Auction package consists of gift certificates for The Westside Company’s services donated to fundraisers to be auctioned off. Through The Profit Share program, substantial revenue can be garnered by exposing The Westside Company’s services to anyone who may need them in return for The Westside Company donating a substantial portion of the profits – typically between 10 and 20% – to the cause or school of the client’s choice.

About The Westside Company:

The Westside Company is a consortium of quality service businesses co-founded by lifetime Westside resident Eric Faber over his 30 year career along with other native Los Angelenos. The names of their restaurants and businesses, such as Westside Parties and Events, Westside Staging and Design, Westside Home Makeovers and Westside Arcade Game and Pool Table Rentals appear as contributors and supporters all over programs and events throughout the Westside that enrich the lives of others.
