Tickets Go on Sale For Malibu Concert Featuring Musicians From the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and New York City Ballet Dancers

Tickets go on sale today for the City of Malibu’s Concert on the Bluffs, the summer’s biggest cultural event celebrating live music and dance on the stage overlooking Malibu’s iconic beaches. The concert takes place Sunday, August 20, 5:00 PM at Bluffs Park.

“The first Concert on the Bluffs was a huge hit, and it was really a highlight of the year to have hundreds of families enjoying such an amazing cultural event in Malibu,” said Mayor Skylar Peak. “Arts and culture are a powerful way of bringing people together and building community bonds. I couldn’t be more proud of the achievements that the Cultural Arts Commission has made in nurturing Malibu’s cultural life.”

Building on the success of last year’s sold-out show, this second season features musicians from the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Malibu Coast Chamber Orchestra led by conductor Scott Hosfeld. Guest artists include dancers from the New York City Ballet with a spectacular performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango.

The concert promises a summer afternoon of symphony by the sea with some of the world’s best musicians and ballet dancers, set against the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. This summer’s program is sure to please, with everything from nuevo tango to jazz to some of America’s most loved classical scores.

This family-friendly event is appropriate for all ages. Bring a blanket or beach chair to spread out on the lawn. Pack a picnic basket or enjoy hot food and sweets for purchase from a variety of food trucks on site.

General admission tickets are $35, $15 for students and seniors, and free for children five and under, with proceeds benefiting the City’s Arts in Education programs.

Tickets can be purchased online at http://concertonthebluffs2017.brownpapertickets.com or in person at Malibu Bluffs Park (MondayFriday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) or Malibu City Hall (MondayThursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Fridays, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM). For more information call (310) 456-2489 ext. 349 or visit www.MalibuArtsandCulture.org.
