After a warm introduction by City Councilman Bill RosendahWestside neighbors, business stakeholders, and other community members attended a Sept. 12 Town Hall Dialogue to discuss The Mayor’s Five Priorities:
job creation, transportation, public safety, education and the environment.
After a warm introduction by City Councilman Bill Rosendahl, the mayor seemed relaxed and almost jovial, enjoying the banter with constituents.
He said he was proud that, during his term, crime had fallen to levels not seen since 1956 and that transportation issues were making real headway.
The Expo Line, slated to go from Downtown all the way to the Sears Building on 4th Street near the Santa Monica Pier, is due to be completed in 2015.
Balancing the budget was an extraordinary challenge and another $200 million must be cut in the coming year to address structural deficits. He said he supported more help for homeless veterans on the VA property. Carmageddon showed what could be done when the citizens of Los Angeles pull together, he said.
