The UCLA Armenian Music Program and the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music present Resonances: Music of Armenia, a special event to honor the Armenian Genocide and celebrate Armenian musical heritage. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m.
The Lernazang Ensemble (Լեռնազանգ Համույթ), UCLA’s Armenian Music Program’s newest ensemble in residence, will perform Armenian folk medleys featuring the acclaimed folk singer Hasmik Harutyunyan. Meanwhile, the VEM Ensemble (ՎԷՄ Համոյթ), led by artistic director and UCLA professor Movses Pogossian, will return for its annual performance of works by Armenian classical composers.
This co-presentation is a testament to the depth and breadth of Armenian musical heritage and culture. By commemorating the Armenian Genocide, the event underscores the importance of recognizing and preserving cultural identity and artistic expression.
The program is free to attend and does not require a ticket. However, valet parking is available on Lindbrook Drive for $10 cash only, while self-parking is available under the museum for $8 for the first three hours with museum validation and $3 for each additional 20 minutes, with a $22 daily maximum. There is an $8 flat rate after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.
Please be aware of the food, bag check, and photo policies before attending the program.
