UCLA held a “Star Wars” Day during its Dec. 16 men’s basketball game against Cincinnati.
Fans were able to have their pictures taken in front of a special Star Wars backdrop along the North Concourse with such characters as R2-D2, C-3PO and Darth Vader. The first 10,000 fans in attendance received limited-edition UCLA/Star Wars’ cheer cards. Free “Star Wars” lattes were also served on the Northeast Concourse.
The BB-8 droid made a special appearance along the North Concourse and at the Pavilion Club. “Star Wars’” merchandise was be available for purchase on the North Concourse, and a row of fans will received “Star Wars” prize bags, which included tickets to “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
The game was a rematch of last season’s NCAA tournament second-round game, won by the Bruins, 79-67. However, on Saturday, Cincinnati beat the Bruins 76-63.
