Kate Hudson and Gabrielle Union were honored at “An Unforgettable Evening” benefitting The Women’s Cancer Research Foundation.
This star-studded even raised over $1.5 million and featured a special musical performance by the unforgettable and frankly unrecognizable Miley Cyrus. This multi-talented actress/singer manages to transform herself into a woman of a thousand faces – but her unique voice and style are certainly “unforgettable”.
She sung her little heart out with her hits “Nothing Breaks like a Heart” and “The Climb”.
Actress Kate Hudson received the Courage award for her support of breast cancer research and Actress, producer and activist Gabrielle Union was presented the Unsung Hero Award for her commitment on educating women for breast cancer screenings, to help prevent this insidious disease. Among the celebs in attendance were: Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Paris Hilton, Sean Penn, Demi Moore and Sharon Stone. Talk about Star Power!
Kudos to President and CEO Myra Biblowit, Researcher Dr. Peter Kuhn and their high powered gala chairmen including Tom Ford and Judy Glickman Lauder, who truly made this an “Unforgettable Evening!”
Another outstanding event was held at our Dorothy Chandler Pavilion by The American Red Cross to present Humanitarian Awards to donors who help make the life-saving work of the Red Cross possible. The Humanitarian of the Year was Buzz McCoy and his charitable organization: The Bowen H and Janice Arthur McCoy Charitable Foundation.
The Mark Taper Foundation is the headquarters for Red Cross for Los Angeles and was recognized for more than 30 years of generosity and assistance in times of crisis. This past summer, the Red Cross saw unprecedented disasters that stretched the resources and volunteers. The commitment the volunteers have made in alleviating human suffering is outstanding.
Gala guests enjoyed live entertainment from Ramin Abrams and French singer
Helene Segara; as well as celeb appearances by super-model Nadine Mirada, and soap stars of “Days of our Lives” Camila Banus and Nancy Yoon who also served as the evenings’ emcee.
