A list was released on June 2 of 15 Los Angeles streets to be revamped under Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Great Streets urban renewal program. Of the 15, two of them are on the Westside while another is in Hollywood and a fourth in nearby Mid-Wilshire.

The mayor’s office chose one street in each of the 15 council districts to receive improvements aimed at making them more pedestrian-friendly and livable.

The thoroughfares range from San Pedro’s Gaffey Street to the San Fernando Valley’s Van Nuys Boulevard, and from Venice Boulevard in Mar Vista to Cesar Chavez Street in Boyle Heights.

Garcetti is scheduled to discuss the chosen streets during a news conference in Reseda the morning of June 3.

The two streets on the Westside are:

–       Westwood, along Westwood Boulevard between Le Conte Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, in the Fifth District;

–       Mar Vista, along Venice Boulevard between Beethoven Street and Inglewood Boulevard, in the 11th District.
