Westfield & Watkinson Named Citizens of the Year

The Century City Chamber of Commerce has announced its Citizen of the Year honorees for 2018: Westfield Century City – the area’s premier retail and dining destination following its $1 billion renovation – and Reneé Watkinson – Vice President of Property Management and Director, CBRE, Inc.

For 35 years, the Century City Chamber of Commerce has bestowed its highest civic recognition award, Citizen of the Year, on a company and an individual who exemplify excellence in corporate and community relations. The awards ceremony will be held on Wed. March 28, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at The Beverly Hilton (9876 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills).

The 2018 Corporate Citizen of the Year, Westfield Century City, provides a beautiful community gathering place to shop, dine, and experience world-class events. It is a 1.2 million square foot destination encompassing more than 200 luxury, contemporary and designer brands, multiple award winning restaurants, a new three-level flagship Nordstrom, completely remodeled three-level Bloomingdale’s, modern new two-level Macy’s, luxurious new Equinox fitness club and spa, as well as the West Coast’s first Eataly celebrating Italian culture, cuisine, and its most authentic flavors.

Reneé Watkinson, the 2018 Individual Citizen of the Year, is Vice President of Property Management and Director for CBRE, Inc., where she oversees all property management and tenant relations for the company’s 2.4 million square-feet of premier, Class “A” office space at Century Park, a superblock destination comprising the award winning 2000 Avenue of the Stars and Century Plaza Towers, a 4-acre centerpiece park, the Annenberg Space for Photography, destination dining including Craft Los Angeles and a promenade of cafés.

Under Watkinson’s direction, both Century Plaza Towers and 2000 Avenue of the Stars have achieved LEED® – Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance Gold Certification established by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

“We are thrilled to name Westfield Century City and Reneé Watkinson as our Corporate and Individual Citizen of the Year,” said Nancy Wood, president and CEO of Century City Chamber of Commerce. “Both are very deserving of the award due to their significant dedication and improvements to the community which showcase Century City the best place in LA to live, work, and shop.”
