Police are investigating a crime spree on the Westside over the weekend.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), around 9 p.m. on Saturday officers responded to a house on the 12900 block of Chalon Road in Mandeville Canyon following a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene with stolen jewelry from the home.
Around two hours later, the LAPD received another call for a burglary at a home in Beverly Crest on the 200 block of Delfern Drive. The property was vacant and the prior tenant had recently moved out.
The LAPD was investigating both burglaries Sunday morning when they received a call for another burglary at a home on the 11000 block of West Olympic Boulevard after receiving reports that a burglar was currently inside the house.
The LAPD arrived and took one person into custody. It’s unclear if they were arrested or if they are connected to the evening burglaries.
The burglaries all took places in affluent neighborhoods, police noted.
Anyone with information about these burglaries should contact the LAPD West station at 310-444-0702. You can also submit an anonymous tip online at lacrimestoppers.org.
