Westside Events: Help Neighbors in Need Donation Drive, Coffee Cupping at Equator Coffee

Donate at Culver City Fire Department and Attend a Special Coffee Event at the Ivy

This weekend, the Culver City Fire Department will host a donation drive to help our neighbors in need. In coordination with Leadership Culver City, organizers are requesting those interested in donating to bring backpacks, baby wipes, blankets, hygiene kits, pillows, socks, sunblock, and warm clothing. These items will go to our unhoused neighbors and most vulnerable people. Stop by as you head to the Downtown Culver City Car Show!

  • What: Neighbors in Need Donation Drive
  • When: Saturday, May 11, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Where: 9600 Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232
  • Who: Hosted by the Culver City Fire Department, organized by Leadership Culver City, and partnering with Palms Unhoused Mutual Aid
  • Why: To assist unhoused neighbors in our community

Cash donations will not be accepted. While that kindness is appreciated, we invite you to donate food gift cards or TAP cards.

Equator Coffees is hosting an outdoor coffee-tasting event this Saturday, May 11, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Guests are invited to bring their picnic blankets and join in for a delightful afternoon featuring a variety of seasonal Equator Coffees offerings at the LGBTQ-founded coffee roaster and cafe.

Among the highlights are the Cherry Blossom espresso, Super Bloom coffee blend, and a selection of other exciting spring drinks. The event promises to be a perfect blend of flavorful coffee, sunshine, and engaging conversations.

The tasting will take place on the Ivy Station lawn picnic style, offering attendees the chance to bask in the sun while enjoying refreshing coffee beverages.

While the event is free to attend, RSVPs are requested. Interested participants can secure their spots here.
