What’s New at Westfield Century City

Gerard Darel

The Paris-based contemporary fashion brand Gerard Darel is expanding to the US.

The Los Angeles location will be at Westfield Century City and is slated to open Dec. 17.

The store – along with a sister store in New York’s Soho – will showcase Gerard Darel’s Parisian aesthetic with vintage furnishings fused with modern elements. Both boutiques will carry the full range of women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and accessories.

The brand, which was founded in 1971 by Danielle and Gerard Darel, entered the U.S. market via Bloomingdale’s shop-in-shops at 20 locations. Today it is sold in more than 50 countries, in more than 500 boutiques and shop-in-shops worldwide.

Eataly’s Line-O-Meter

Following the grand opening of Eataly LA on Nov. 3, wait times were up to three hours long. The store was so overwhelmed they shut down for a day on Nov. 6. But now, they’ve figured out a way for customers to know when they can enter the store, via their Line-O-Meter, which will tell you via peppers how “hot” you are (how long your wait will be). You can access these real-time updates on your wait time via Eataly’s Twitter account at @EatalyLA.

Hermes Pop Up Shop

Be quick! The pop up store opened Nov. 10 and will only be at the mall through Nov. 19. You can’t miss the pop up shop – it looks like a Laundromat and is located on the Atrium level 1.

Customers can bring in their own Hermes scarves or purchase a scarf on site to be dip dyed for no charge in a choice of three colors: fuchsia, denim blue or violet. An assortment of vintage Hermes silk scarves will be available to purchase and over-dye.

The pop up is open from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Javier’s

The upscale Mexican chain, Javier’s is now open in Westfield Century City.

The former Seasons 52 space has a “sense of casual coastal charm, from the big, wide booths to the palm fronds swaying slowly,” according to EaterLA.

Javier’s also has restaurants in Newport Beach, Irvine, Las Vegas, and Los Cabos. The chain prides itself on its “rich heritage of elevated Mexican cuisine in a friendly, captivating ambiance. Enjoy hand-shaken margaritas, rare tequilas, craft cocktails and a vast selection of beer and fine wines.”

Javier’s is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Rori’s Artisinal Creamery

Gather round ice cream fans. Rori’s Artisinal Creamery has arrived at the mall. The ice cream and dessert store specializes in craft ice cream with natural flavors and ingredients that include stranger flavors such as “Biscoff” with house-made Speculoos cookies, black pepper pistachio, brown sugar banana, cinnamon toast cereal crunch and more.

Rori’s also serves shakes, floats and housemade cookies.
