Wonderwoman at Work

The Century City Chamber of Commerce has announced the names of the six women who will be honored at the 2017 Women of Achievement (WOA) Awards next month.

The annual awards dinner will be held at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City Hotel on Tues. Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m.

This year’s honorees are Patricia Crider, Westfield Corporation; Candace DeGraff, Creative Artists Agency; Colleen Hart, Proskauer Rose LLP; Jacqueline Norvell, Seyfarth Shaw LLP; Tanya Russell, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, and Rebecca Waits, PMK•BNC.

For the past 26 years, the Century City Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council (WBC) has recognized women in the Century City community whose professional dedication and commitment to excellence are an inspiration to all.

Nominations for the Women of Achievement Awards are received directly from peers and citizens of the Century City community.

Members of the WBC then review the submissions and vote to select six professional women who not only excel in their career but are dedicated to making the community stronger by mentoring other women in their careers and being involved in non-profit and charitable organizations.

Patricia Crider

“This year we had a record number of nominations, all amazing women who are successful in their careers and who are very involved in making a difference in our community through their philanthropic and charitable involvement,” said Nancy Wood, president and CEO of the Century City Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber is thrilled to honor and celebrate these inspiring women and the non-profits that they support.”

Candace DeGraff

The keynote speaker will be Amy Ziering, an internationally recognized two-time Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker. Her most recent film, “The Hunting Ground,” is an exposé of rape culture on college campuses.

In the next edition of Century City-Westwood News, we will profile each of the Women of Achievement, along with their contributions to the community.

Rebecca Waits

Tickets, table purchases, and sponsorship opportunities for the WOA Awards Dinner are available at centurycitycc.com, contact@centurycitycc.com, or by calling the Chamber at 310.553.2222 for details.
