Cinco De Mayo 2016 Events

LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes and the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) present a free screening of “Texas Before the Alamo.” A film about the founding of Texas & the Spanish who established missions, presidios and trails. Ever heard of the lucha libre? You know, masked wrestlers going to town on each other, riling up the crowd as one gets whackier than the next in order to entertain the fans?

 

Imagine that, plus the world’s best stripteases, comedy, mariachis, music, tamales, and 5 de mayo?! Sounds like the next installment of Lucha VaVOOM!

Don’t miss out on this super funky and entertaining show on May 5-6 at the Mayan Theater in downtown L.A. Cost of a ticket is $48.50.

 

Keep in mind shows are 21+ and start at 8 p.m (doors at 7).

Mariachi sol de Mexico at Segerstrom Center

LA’s favorite mariachi band, Mariachi Sol de Mexico will be performing a special Cinco de Mayo concert at the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall at the Segerstrom Center. The prolific band, ​under the musical direction of José Hernández, will perform traditional Mexican folk, classical and pop music with Hernandez’ vivid and graceful arrangements.

Cinco de Mayo Latin Concert at the Globe Theater

A Latin music concert at the Globe Theater featuring Baby Bash, Mellow Man Ace, Amanda Perez, Lil Rob, Lighter Shade of Brown, Kid Frost and much more.

Cinco de Mayo at Citadel Outlets

The castle courtyard at Citadel Outlets will be decorated all week, but the Cinco de Mayo celebration will culminate with a two-day festival May 7-8 featuring live ballet folklorico and mariachi performances. A local talent showcase will feature up and coming local acts from 2 to 6 pm both days.
