Maryland Natives Come Together For Annual Crab Cake Event To Benefit Chrysalis

Maryland natives Ben Feldman, Michael and Bryan Voltaggio, and Duff Goldman announced today their 4th Annual Crab Cake LA event which will be held at the Maple Block Meat Co. in Culver City on Sunday, July 31, from 2-6pm. For the second year in a row, all proceeds for the event will benefit Chrysalis, a non-profit dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals.

Crab Cake LA is the ultimate East meets West coast event and has become a summer staple in Los Angeles. “It’s insanely exciting to watch the back yard crab parties of our childhoods morph into the incredible event we get to throw thousands of miles away as adults,” adds Ben Feldman, “And to do it all while benefitting such an incredible organization- I feel like we’re scamming someone- Just not sure who yet.”

The 2015 event sold out to a crowd of over 200 and the hosts are expecting to far exceed that number at the new, larger location in Culver City. “The goal of Crab Cake was always to put on an authentic Maryland crab feast out on the West Coast, while supporting and raising funds that directly benefit our non-profit partner,” says Michael Voltaggio. “It’s been great to to see the event grow over the past few years and we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with LA’s Maple Block Meat Co., who will be hosting this year’s event.”

The popular event has been host to celebrity attendees such as Ryan Phillippe, Nicole Richie, Joel and Benji Madden, Max Greenfield, Laurence Fishburne, and many more.

Guests in attendance will enjoy live Jazz music and a signature menu prepared by celebrity chefs and hosts Michael & Bryan Voltaggio and Duff Goldman who will be serving up traditional Steamed Maryland Blue Crabs, Peel ‘n Eat Shrimp, Hush Puppies, Corn on the Cob, Boiled Potatoes, and Smith Island Cake. If that wasn’t enough, Crab Cake LA will also have the added flavor of wood-smoked meats including signature BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches courtesy of Chef Adam Cole of Maple Block Meat Co.

Tickets beginning at $150 are available for sale now at http://crabcakela2016.eventbrite.com. VIP Tickets are also available starting at $250 and will include early admission, a limited-edition T-shirt and a crab cracking experience with one of the event hosts during VIP hour.
