13th Annual LA Cancer Challenge

The 13th Annual Race will take place on October 31, 2010The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, dedicated to finding a cure for this devastating disease and improving early detection methods, will host the 13th Annual L. A. Cancer Challenge (L.A.C.C.) 5K/10K Walk/Run and Kids Can Cure Fun Run hosted by Michael Muhney from “The Young and the Restless.”

Striving to surpass last year’s record-breaking fundraising year, nearly 5,000 men, women and children of all ages are expected to participate; many will be dressed in festive Halloween costumes. In 2009, more than $550,000 was raised; we hope that you’ll join the fun run and help us top that figure in 2010.

Pancreatic cancer has the highest fatality rate of all cancers; over 42,000 people will be diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer this year in the United States and nearly 37,0Host Michael Muhney from 00 will die from the disease. It is the #1 fatality rate of all cancers. 75% of patients die within the first year of diagnosis.

The L.A.C.C. will feature a Health & Fitness Expo, Halloween Kid Zone with pumpkin decorating, Halloween Costume Parade and the fabulous Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast.

Children 2 to 13-years-old can register to participate in the Kids Can Cure Fun Run by visiting www.KidsCanCure.com. The pre-registration fee is $15 and includes a Kids Can Cure t-shirt and gift bag. All finishers of the Kids Can Cure Fun Run will receive a prize.
