The American Premiere of Enrico Maria Falconi’s poetic new play, presented in = Italian with English synopsis by Italy’s renowned Blue in the Face Theatre Company will take place on June 12th.
A group of explorers finds what they believe to be an abandoned building. Wandering among the rooms, they eventually find a stage and, on the stage, an old man who starts telling them a dismantled, story about love, about life, like a dream not yet begun, a story looking for a beginning but not finding (does it even want to?) an end. “But,†Falconi says “if you start listening or living a story, you must be sure you want to know how the story ends…â€
Performed in the original Italian, with pre-show synopsis in English. Written & directed by Enrico Maria Falconi. Lights & music by Angela Donetti & Giordano Bonifazi. Three shows only. Post-show reception with the cast included. Blue in the Face looks at theatre as a form of ethic-Art which centers on the idea of recitation as a strong personal tool for growth. The Company motto “We live in dreams, like others, only that we live our own” is the testimony of an art-conception as a “sweet cultural revolution.” This tour marks its third visit to Santa Monica Playhouse and its first to Santa Fe and New York.
