The name Playboy is usually associated with visual stimulation. However, every summer the beautiful bunny hutch that Hugh Hefner built provides auditory pleasure thanks to the Playboy Jazz Festival. This year’s festival – the 31st – promises a line up sure to delight audiences in June.
While this over-thirty writer is thrilled to hear that Playboy is celebrating anything over 30, I’m especially enthused about the line up for both the festival and community concert series that Playboy has created for our pleasure.
On Saturday June 13th (from 2:30pm – 11pm) and Sunday, June 14th (2pm-10:30pm) jazz fans can head over to the Hollywood Bowl for an extraordinary line up of music from jazz headliners like The Neville Brothers, Wayne Shorter, Kenny G to future legends all of whom will grace the stage of the Hollywood Bowl in a series of concerts. The eclectic offerings of the festival start at the top; Hugh Hefner executive produces the festival and Bill Cosby will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The talent on stage represents an equally broad range; from Patti Austin and King Sunny Ade to the North Hollywood High School Jazz Ensemble.
No matter which show you attend, Playboy is sure to be music to your ears.
