On Sunday, September 27, a group of kids from Beverly Hills Heart Helpers 4-H Club will sell their own produce from the Greystone Mansion Demonstration Garden at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., making  this the first true locally grown Beverly Hills produce ever sold at the Farmers’ Market.

Under the direction of lead volunteer Barbara  Linder, the Heart Helpers 4-H Club kids developed, planted, cultivated and maintained  the Demonstration Garden at Beverly Hills Greystone Mansion and Gardens with the intention to sell the produce at the Farmers’ Market. “They worked many hours over six months to ensure the produce was worthy of selling at the market,” said Barbara Linder. After going through the process of agriculture inspections and licensing, the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture awarded the Demonstration Garden producers with a Certified Producer’s Certificate,
allowing sale of their produce at the Farmers’ Market.

The produce from the Demonstration Garden that will be sold by the 4-H Club kids includes winter  squash, popcorn on the cob, pomegranates, garden-grown herbal sachets, dried hot peppers, baked garden-grown apple chips, kumquat and mulberry preserves and syrups. They will sell home-made
