This is the first call-up for a youth national team for the 22-year-old Romney, who played five games for the Galaxy in 2015, starting two. He spent most of the season playing for LA Galaxy II, the Galaxy’s USL Pro team.
Sorto, 21, a Manual Arts High alumnus, started three games for the Galaxy this season and spent most of the season playing for LA Galaxy II.
The under-23 national team’s games Wednesday in Recife, Brazil and Sunday in Belem, Brazil, are part of the preparations for the March playoff against Colombia where a berth in the 2016 Summer Olympics will be on the line.
