Registration Is Open For The 19th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge Charity Race

 

The 5K/10K Walk/Run – Benefiting Pancreatic Cancer Research – Returns To West Los Angeles And Will Feature a Health & Fitness Expo, Halloween Activities and Live Entertainment

WHAT: Walkers, runners, teams, individuals and kids can now register for the 19th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K/10K Walk/Run (LACC). Sponsored and produced by the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the LACC is one of Southern California’s largest and most popular charity races.  The LACC will be held at its new home on the campus of UCLA onSunday, October 30 and is the kick-off to Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in November.

The annual Halloween-themed, family-friendly charity event will host 3,000 attendees. Kids can also run for a cure at the Kids Can Cure Fun Run.  It is the perfect opportunity for children ages two to seven-years-old to participate in the LACC.

The LACC is a great way to start celebrating Halloween with fun for the whole family. Highlights will include a Health & Fitness ExpoHalloween Kids Zonecelebrities, live entertainment and a Children’s Halloween Parade & Adult Costume Contest.

General registration includes a chip-timed event, T-shirt, bib, custom designed finishers’ medal and a runner’s gift bag. Custom winners’ medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age category. In addition to medals, overall 1st – 3rd place male & female winners for the 5K and 10K will receive prizes.

To date, the LACC has raised more than $6.7 million dollars for pancreatic cancer research.  The Hirshberg Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for pancreatic cancer and improving early detection methods.

COST:    General Registration

  • $40 – $50 for 5K or 10K
  • $45 – $55 for 5K and 10K
  • $25 donation or more (virtual walkers/runners who are unable to attend)

Kids Can Cure Fun Run (for ages 2 – 7)

  • $15 – $25

* The public is encouraged to check for all registration deadlines as fees are subject to change.

  • 10K Run starts at 7:00 am
  • 5K Run starts at 8:30 am
  • Kids Can Cure Fun Run starts at 10:00 am
