We all know about the iPod, and
most of us own one. Come to think
of it, you might be one of the crazy
few like me that seem to collect them.
Each time a new iPod has come out,
I have found a reason to acquire it;
whether for more room for songs,
for a smaller size or the addition of a
screen. Never anything so revolutionary
or so different as to make it seem a
wise use of my money, or a necessary
addition to my nuclear iPod family.
Until now!!
Enter the iPod Touch,
Apple’s newest addition
to their family of music
and video players. When
I first heard about this
device, I figured it was
just a cheaper version of
the iPhone, without the
phone part. Boy was I
wrong!
The iPod Touch is
so much more than a
music player; it really
should have a different
name than iPod. Let me share with
you just a few of the things I can do
on this player.
I enjoy watching TV on occasion,
but with my hectic schedule it is rare
that I have time to sit down at home
and watch. With the purchase of
the iPod Touch, and one click at the
iTunes Music Store, the entire first
season of The Office was downloaded
to my computer and easily transferred
to the player. Now I have the
power, right in the palm
of my hand, to watch the
entire series when I want,
and where I want.
Don’t let the size fool
you either; this device is
absolutely big enough to
watch any TV show or
movie on. The quality is
perfect, sharp, clear and
better than most TVs in
your house. Now when I
have some free time on a
plane or train or when I am
working out on a treadmill
or bike, I just pop the little
white headphones in my
ear and off I go.
I surf the Web for fun
and business every day.
Anytime I’m at home, at
work or anywhere where
there is WiFi (Internet over a wireless
network), I can jump online with
my iPod Touch. This device doesn’t
change the way Web pages look to fit
my device; it shows me the web page
as it truly is. With a flick of my finger
on the screen, I can scroll through
pages, zoom in or rotate pages. I can
even open up multiple Web pages.
The iPod touch browses the Internet
better than my first few laptops
did, and it certainly is easier to carry
around.
I could write a book on this device
and its features, seriously. For now,
if you want a device that is small
and can play music, videos, movies,
browse the Web and so much more,
you should definitely check out the
iPod Touch. By far, it is the best portable
movie player I’ve ever seen.
