Media City Ballet, a leading professional ballet company in the Los Angeles area, is thrilled to announce “Encore! An Evening of Dining and Ballet†celebrating their upcoming 10th season. The event will take place on October 1, 2010. Media City Ballet will honor the ballet legends of the Ballet Russes and the community and business leaders who have generously supported them during their first ten years of ballet production.
Patrons, supporters and fans will enjoy an evening of dining, festivities and inspiring ballet performances as Media City reflects on 10 years of highly-acclaimed performance, and will honor those special people who made it all possible. This special evening will be hosted by Elmarie Wendel, popular actress from “3rd Rock from the Sun,†“George Lopez†and “General Hospital.†The master of ceremonies will be Dan Roebuck, a well-known actor and producer who recently appeared on “Lost†and “CSI: Miami.â€
Four legendary dancers of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo — Patricia Peters Doyle, Paul Maure, Andrei Tremaine, and Dorothy Matise Wade — will be honored for the immense wealth of artistic support and direction they have provided over the past decade. With their guidance, Media City Ballet has produced exciting dance in the tradition of the Ballet Russe, and will be forever grateful for their leadership. They will also honor Mark Platt in absentia for his support and will remember Victor Moreno and George Zoritch for their dedication and assistance.
Additional honors will be given to Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich for the work that he has done to support our organization and the arts in Los Angeles as a member of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. We are proud that Supervisor Antonovich and his family are fans of our ballet and we always look forward to seeing them at a performance.
Finally, Media City Ballet will recognize and extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Andre van Niekerk, Dean of the Business School at Woodbury University, for his generous support and professional advice over the past decade.

Media City Ballet’s Encore! event will be held on October 1, 2010, at the beautiful Chevy Chase Country Club, 3067 East Chevy Chase Drive, Glendale, California. A campaign reception will begin at 6:30pm. Guests will mingle with other ballet lovers, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and meet our special honorees, including the Ballet Russe dancers.
