Toast the 91st anniversary of U.S. women’s suffrage and 12 years of socialist feminist organizing at Solidarity Hall at Radical Women’s final gala in our West Los Angeles headquarters before we move to our larger facility in South Los Angeles.
The festivities will feature a spoken word performance by Gia Scott-Heron and Yazmin Monet Watkins, and revolutionary beats by hip hop composer MC 360. Open mic to follow in honor of early feminist and anti-slavery leaders who paved the way for women’s rights; and in recognition of today’s civil and human rights defenders.
Join Radical Women on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 6:30pm. Door donation $3-$5. Appetizer buffet served throughout the evening for $8 donation. Festivities at air-conditioned Solidarity Hall, 2170 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles.
Partial proceeds will benefit Radical Women and Freedom Socialist Party’s “Moving and Renovations Fund†to help relocate the long-time community center.
