In a concert whose composers range from J.S. Bach to Freddie Mercury, the 30-member Los Angeles Recorder Orchestra (LARO) includes the whole range of recorders, from the sopranino to the 8 foot subcontra-bass.
The program includes music from Georg Philipp Telemann’s WaterMusic, Bach’s Cantata 106 opening section, and Vivaldi’s Concerto in G Minor to more contemporary Freddy Mercury’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Concerto Grosso by Vaughan Williams.
LARO members David Whitley and Marianne Martin will play the solo parts of the Bach Cantata 106 opening section and Vivaldo’s Concerto in G Minor. St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, 3590 Grand View Blvd., Los Angeles.
Admission is free.
