Every day, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles performs miracles by healing children and allowing them to live healthy, normal lives. As an artist, I would like to recognize the efforts of the hospital’s remarkable staff by dedicating my next art gallery show to them, and by donating all the profits from the sale of my art work during the opening night reception.
The show, titled A Perfect Circle: A Poetography Exhibit, will be at the James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica. The opening reception will be on Saturday, September 11th, from 6:00 to 9:00. The show will run through October 10th.
Spending time with children takes us back to the times when we were children. Watching them laugh and cry, we remember the feelings of joy and sorrow that we experienced when we were young. A Perfect Circle tries to capture those memories and feelings through Poetography, an art form I developed that merges English-language tanka poetry with black-&-white photography.
