This free event, co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood during Older Americans Month, will include participants of all ages marching a mile around West Hollywood Park to celebrate Age Pride. Organizers hope to dispel negative age stereotypes that harm society, and reduce growing levels of age discrimination.
Barbara Rose Brooker founded Age March last year in San Francisco to celebrate age pride. Invited guests include West Hollywood City Council, West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, LA Gay & Lesbian Center, Congregation Kol Ami, and the Sunset Strip Business Association.
Age March LA will feature musical entertainment provided by Bob Tucker, Jane Getz, Cody Wood, and jazz vocalist Suzi Oliver.
