GLOW, a unique, one night art event returns to Santa Monica on Saturday, July 19 from sundown until sunup. Commissioned artists will install a variety of works on the pier, beach, ocean and boardwalk for only 12 hours of twilight. Inspired by Paris’ Nuit Blanche Festival, GLOW will feature the inviting and luminescent installations that encourage exploration and play. Featured artist and long-time Santa Monica resident John Baldessari has offered his artwork for the GLOW identity and festival representing the spirit and style of this year’s event. Other featured installations come from artists Usman Haque and Shih Chieh Huang. Many local restaurants and cafes will have extended hours for this all-night event.
