Increase your flexibility, improve your spirits and help a great cause — all at the same time by attending Asana for the Arts, a special yoga fundraising event for City Ballet of Los Angeles (CBLA) on Saturday, March 6th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
Based in downtown Los Angeles, CBLA is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to increasing the profile of dance in Los Angeles. CBLA performs a repertoire of classical and contemporary works reflecting the diverse makeup of Los Angeles.
CBLA also runs a dance studio downtown that provides classical ballet training in the traditional academy style to students that are economically and socially disadvantaged. The school is open year-round and offers twelve classes per week in a variety of dance styles. Many of CBLAs students are on scholarship and attend two to five classes a week at no-cost or at reduced rates.
The Asana for the Arts event will feature a yoga class taught by Susy Vishmid, a classically trained ballet dancer and certified yoga instructor. Drawing upon her dual experience in dance and yoga, Susys classes incorporate an enhanced sense of movement, clear instructions, and a lot of fun.
The class will be held at 2061 Westridge, Los Angeles, CA 90049.
