It’s not just weekend pool parties at the Annenberg Community Beach House this October…all year round you can come by to explore art, listen to music, or learn something new!
Did you know that Johnny Mathis covered “Kol Nidre”, or that Billy Holliday belted out a version of “My Yiddische Momme”?
On Monday, October 25th at 6:30pm enjoy a free listening party that will blow your mind with scholar and USC Annenberg professor Josh Kun, who will take you on an audio journey through an undeservedly obscure corner of our musical heritage, drawing connections between Black and Jewish music and popular entertainers from the 30s to the 60s. Reserve your seat at http://beachculture49.eventbrite.com.
Through November the Exhibit Gallery features “Mountains to the Sea”, a mixed media exhibit by eleven artists from the artist-run Topanga Canyon Gallery, and in late October we will announce the newest Writer in Residence, who will be conducting readings and workshops during their ten week tenure. Get more info at http://annenbergbeachhouse.com/cultural-programs. For hours and general info, call (310) 435-4904 or visit the website.
