Cal Net Technology Group and The DigiTrust Group offer network security insights to L.A. accounting firms

On Friday, October 22, 2010, Cal Net Technology Group, a leading I.T. consulting and computer services company serving Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties and The DigiTrust Group, Los Angeles’ premier information security consulting firm, hosted a private luncheon in Beverly Hills, California, for local accounting firms. The event followed the first installment geared towards not-for-profits in early October, 2010. Local firms in attendance included NSBN LLP and Rose, Snyder & Jacobs.

The Cal Net/DigiTrust event series comes hot on the heels of the “Annual Global Fraud Report†, published by risk consultancy Knoll, which states that companies in information-based industries reported a higher number of electronic theft incidents over the past year. In light of this spike in cybercrime, the event series seeks to offer key insights into the current state-of-the-art solutions for securing data and protecting networks.

“According to Knoll’s report, money lost to fraud has risen twenty percent in the last year,†remarked Zack Schuler, founder and CEO of Cal Net Technology Group. “Professional services, like accounting, were among the hardest hit, going from twenty-seven to forty percent. As a company invested in full-spectrum I.T. solutions for our clients, we recognize the importance of addressing network security issues and have partnered with the DigiTrust Group, one of the leaders in this space, to educate and inform local firms about these issues.â€

Joseph Feroz, attendee and I.T. Manager at NSBN LLP, felt that both presentations attacked important topics: “Cal Net and DigiTrust gave me new insight on disaster recovery and I.T. security.â€
