COLOGNE Or The Ways Evil Enters The World

“Daring, savagely incisive,†says LA Times. Harry Hart-Browne stars in Tony Abatemarco’s critically acclaimed one-man play about a gay youth’s sexual coming of age. “An affirmation of individualism and tolerance.†(LA WEEKLY). Set on Long Island in the ‘60’s, COLOGNE deals with the dire consequences an adolescent boy suffers when he tries to avoid suspicion about his sexual preference by arranging for the bashing of another boy with whom he’d been involved. Abatemarco’s powerful story is as relevant today amidst the headlines about bullying and the suicides of gay teens as when it was written.

“Strikingly sensuous,†(NY Times). Rated R for mature themes and situations. Harry Hart-Browne (Seinfeld, LA Law, Night Court, Married…With Children, Hill Street Blues) has received eleven awards for his acting work and starred in the Off-BrHarry Hart-Browneoadway classic The Hot l Baltimore and the award-winning Charles Busch comedy Psycho Beach Party. He helped pioneer the personal story solo play with his ground-breaking Pardon Me, I’m Having an Emotion in 1978. Award-winning director-writer Tony Abatemarco recently directed Catwalk Confidential in London’s West End and Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’?†at the Hollywood Fringe. Prior to that he directed Julie Harris in Lucifer’s Child on Broadway and for A & E TV; other directing credits: Mark Taper Forum, Pasadena Playhouse, Santa Fe Stages, La Mama, Theatre Grévin, Paris.
