Cory Monteith’s estate is worth about $2.2 million, according to a final inventory and appraisal submitted by an attorney for relatives of the late “Glee” star.
The 31-year-old Canadian-born actor was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room in July 2013.
In court papers filed Nov. 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court, probate attorney David Soffer states that the estate has earned about $1.35 million from an unnamed film in which Monteith was featured before he died.
The estate holds nearly $700,000 in assets kept in bank accounts, according to Soffer’s court papers. The estate additionally has $100,000 in life insurance proceeds and earned $45,000 in income streams from Sony Music, the Soffer court papers state.
A Canadian coroner’s final report found that Monteith died from using intravenous heroin combined with alcohol. Investigators found a spoon with drug residue and a used hypodermic needle in his hotel room.
Monteith played the character Finn Hudson in “Glee,” which debuted in 2009.
