This new offering creates the opportunity for adolescents and young adults, ages 13-22, to focus on self advocacy, inclusion in the community and self-esteem building. Participants in the Fiddle Program will attend weekly classes that focus upon enhancing verbal and augmentative communication using the musical and theatrical techniques of Elaine Hall, Director of the Vista Inspire Program, Founder of The Miracle Project, and renowned expert in creative programming for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Peer mentors will also participate as friends and role models so as to maximize the participant’s ability to integrate within the community. The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation is committed to fostering the ongoing development of this program
The Vista Inspire Program honors the core values and guiding principles of The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation, built on celebrating the individuality of each person with ASD so that each may thrive and participate throughout their lifetime in opportunities which support maximum integration in the community and which therefore, build a stronger community.
The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation, a 501 (c)(3), all volunteer-run organization, was established to develop, advocate for and support programs through grant awards that enrich the lives of adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). ASD affects each individual in a different manner but is generally characterized by impairments in social interactions and communication skills. Quality of life issues, including health and wellness throughout the lifespan, awareness about co-morbid health conditions and the development of positive support systems for adults on the spectrum are an integral part of the foundation’s mission.
