Broadway is traveling 3,000 miles from its birthplace to Century City this Thursday, Aug. 14 in the form of the show “Best of Broadway!” starring three of the Great White Way’s most prime performers.

The star-studded Broadway lineup consists of Valerie Perri of “Sunset Boulevard” and “Evita,” David Burnham of “Wicked” and “Light in the Piazza,” and musical director Mark Vogel, who has worked on television shows and movies such as “Bones,” “Full House,” and “Raising Helen.”

The chemistry between the three stars is guaranteed to captivate the audience, as the show has been months in the making and the performers are accustomed to one another’s stage presence and style.

Burnham and Vogel tour the nation collaborating in the show “Mostly Broadway,” and Perri and Burnham recently starred in “Sunset Boulevard” together.

“The most fun I have when I work with [Burnham and Perri] during rehearsals is when we all sing together,” Vogel said. “Our trios get so big and loud.”

All three will be singing and performing from both shows they have starred in as well as other prominent Broadway musicals.

“It’s truly the best of Broadway in two different aspects,” Vogel said. “Not only are we highlighting songs from the best Broadway shows, but we also have some of the best stars.”

Vogel refers to his favorite Broadway show as “Wicked,” in which Burnham is a seasoned performer.

“I grew up as a huge fan,” Vogel said. “‘Wicked’ is just a magical experience.”

Vogel and Burnham have created a male version of the hit song “For Good” from “Wicked” as well.

All in all, Vogel is anticipating the crowd interaction and “can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction” to the show.

The “Best of Broadway!” show will truly be a quality opportunity to listen to top-notch musical artists and experience Broadway on the west coast.

“Unless you want to go to New York and spend $300 on a Broadway show, there’s no other way to see something like this,” Vogel joked.

The “Best of Broadway!” is being presented by the Arts Council of the Century City Chamber of Commerce. It will be held in the InterContinental Grand Salon Ballroom at 2151 Avenue of the Stars in Century City.

The show will start at 6:30 pm, with registration and networking beginning at 5:30 pm. (Networking includes wine and appetizers.)

Tickets are $40 for Chamber members, $50 for non-members, and $60 at the door.
