Exceptional show of Jewish unity for Yom HaZikaron at Beverly Hills event April 21

FlyerYom HaZikaron, the annual Remembrance Day for soldiers who gave their lives in defense of Israel and victims of terror, will be commemorated with a unique event hosted by Temple of the Arts (TOTA) Steve Tisch Cinema Center at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.

The event is free of charge with open seating and begins promptly at 7:30 pm on April 21. The Saban Theatre is located at 8440 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211. Kosher refreshments will be served.

The event is sponsored by Dr. Philip and Adi Werthman in loving memory of Samuel Werthman, Z’L.

Thanks to the vision of TOTA’s Rabbi David Baron, this inaugural Yom Hazikaron ceremony includes Rabbis and Cantors from various denominations of Judaism, while bringing together two of the premier organizations supporting Israeli soldiers, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces and Thank Israeli Soldiers.

Additionally, no less than 35 partner Jewish organizations from the greater Los Angeles area are promoting the event to their members and followers.

“In these challenging times for Israel and the IDF, the sheer number and diversity of Jewish groups coming together for this Yom HaZikaron event emphasizes the urgency for unity in the Jewish world. We truly expect this to be an exceptional and memorable evening honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the Jewish nation,” said Rabbi Baron.

A special feature of the evening will be the screening of Beneath the Helmet, a powerful documentary film about the brave young defenders of Israel. Created by award-winning Jerusalem U Productions, Beneath the Helmet is an inspiring coming-of-age story about five high school graduates who are drafted in to the army to defend their country.

Temple of the Arts mission is to promote the spirit and teachings of Judaism through music, art, drama, dance and film. Temple of the Arts is the largest arts synagogue in the United States and continues to grow with ground breaking creative endeavors.
