Pamela Fayed, 45, was stabbed to death in Century City on the third floor of a parking structure at 1875 Century Park East at 6:35 p.m. July 28. Police are searching for a suspect.
The victim was assaulted while walking to her car. She was stabbed several times and witnesses heard her screams for help. A woman found the victim bleeding, lying between two cars. Police were summoned and two doctors nearby administered aid. She was stabbed repeatedly in the neck.
The woman, described as being in her 30’s, was treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, said Officer Julianne Sohn, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations.
The suspect is described as being of slender build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was last seen leaving the parking structure in a red sports utility vehicle.
A man seen carrying a bloody shirt from the scene was handcuffed and arrested. Police later released him when it was determined that he was a physician who had tried to stop the bleeding.
“She didn’t look good,†said witness Paul Almond, an attorney in the building. “She was drenched in blood.â€
Fayed was in the midst of a divorce. The couple owned an Internet gold trading company, EBullion and Goldfinger Coin and Bullion, in Camarillo. She had two daughters, including an 18-year old from her first marriage and a younger daughter together. Fayed claimed in divorce papers that their bank accounts totaled $12 million; they owned a home in Moorpark and in the Camarillo foothills. James Fayed had allegedly caused Pamela to inquire after building a panic room in her house, said a neighbor.
