FIRESIDE AT THE MILES

Residents and visitors who have never had a chance to experience Santa Monica�s exquisite historical jewel, the Miles Memorial Playhouse, will have a perfect opportunity during the upcoming series �Fireside at the Miles�. The space has been transformed — we are striking the risers, putting in sofas, carpets and a coffee bar and orienting the space around the gorgeous period fireplace.

Between January 8th and February 6th, the Miles will offer fireside programming every Friday and Saturday night beginning at 8PM. Fridays feature an eclectic line-up of music, and on Saturday nights the Miles partners with local theater companies to present readings of Pulitzer Prize-winning American dramas.

Doors open at 7:00PM � Concerts and readings begin promptly at 8:00PM. Evenings end at 10:00PM.

January 8th � Balinese Gamelan Music with Bali and Beyond

January 9th � The Skin Of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder, read by Teada Productions

January 15th � The Helios Guitar Quartet

January 16th �.Dinner with Friends by Donald Margulies, read by the S.M College Theatre Arts Dept.

January 22nd � Local singer/songwriters in a night entitled Acoustic 4

January 23rd � The Young Man From Atlanta by Horton Foote, read by The Ruskin Group Theater

January 29th � The Robin Cox Ensemble plays contemporary classical and jazz

January 30th � Seascape by Edward Albee, read by The Santa Monica Playhouse

February 5th � Adult and youth MCs and poets in a Night of Hip-Hop and Poetry.

February 6th � �Night Mother by Marsha Norman, read by the Virginia Avenue Project.
