A discussion with the artist, moderated by local gallery owner Craig Krull, will be held immediately following the opening reception.

This stunning exhibit represents the beauty of life’s simple pleasures – home, food, love, nature, dreams – through intricate visuals and rich patterns. “Hungry Women†focuses on images of powerful women and delves into the exploration of the passionate female.
Barbara Brody Avnet began her artistic career at the young age of 13, illustrating for Glamour, House and Garden, Seventeen and House Beautiful Magazines. Born and raised in New York, Avnet attended Cornell University and received a degree in Fine Arts. After relocating to Los Angeles, she began illustrating for the LA Times, JP Tarcher Publishing and Bon Appetit Magazine. In addition to illustrating, Avnet has experienced success as a designer of linens, accessories and pottery for numerous nation-wide companies.
This event is free and open to the public. Limited parking is available on the campus of the Archer School for Girls.

Founded in 1995, The Archer School for Girls is an independent school that provides a rigorous college preparatory program for students in grades 6 through 12 in an environment that explores and refines the ways girls learn best.
