FREE MIDSUMMER ENCHANTED LUNCHTIME FAIRYTALE THEATRE

Story time with the Enchanted Lunchtime LadiesStory-telling, sing-a-longs, crafts, face-painting, dance, enactment of a fairytale, theatre games and a yummy “picnic†lunch make up Enchanted Lunchtime Theatre, a Santa Monica Playhouse Mommy (or Daddy) and Me event for 3 to 6 year olds and their grown-ups, hosted by the gaily costumed Enchanted Lunchtime Ladies. All participants are FREE on Tuesday, July 27, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm as part of the Santa Monica Playhouse ALL JOIN IN FREE FESTIVAL OF THEATRE, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Playhouse’s internationally acclaimed Family Theatre program.

Participants have the chance to explore imaginary worlds through age-appropriate theatre games, improvisation, handicrafts and performance. Parents work as partners by taking an active role in all aspects of the program as members play fun games that deMariya and Skye make a craftvelop the imagination and work with crafts to create props which are used as they act in the day’s fairy tale. The experience also supports parents in their communicative and team-building efforts, while at the same time providing children with the confidence needed to excel in upcoming school programs and giving them a head start on learning, imagining and problem solving. Best of all, it’s just plain fun! The ALL JOIN IN FREE FESTIVAL OF THEATRE is sponsored in part by US Bank and the City of Santa Monica Community Access and Participation (CAP) Grant and the Santa Monica Arts Commission.
