A feast of movement, dance, music and performance art to titillate the senses and delight the imagination little by little and bit by bit. “POCO A POCO†is the featured production in the Santa Monica Playhouse 2009 Italian/American Theatre Festival ¬– a world premiere bi-lingual (Italian-English) play created through cross-cultural collaboration between Italy’s renowned Blue in the Face Theater Company and Santa Monica’s internationally renowned Actors’ Repertory Theatre, helmed by Playhouse Co-Artistic Director Chris DeCarlo with Associate Director Serena Dolinsky. FREE admission includes a post-show discussion with the creative team and participation in Ciao Chow Italian food-tasting after the show. Four performances only. Fri & Sat, Sept 25 & 26. 8pm; Sat & Sun, Sept 26 & 27, 3pm. The two-week long Festival will also include a series of dynamic theatre and cultural exchange workshops. All events and performances in the Italian/American Theatre Festival are free, made possible through the generous support of the Santa Monica Community Access and Participation (CAP) Grant Program and the Santa Monica Arts Commission, Cotkin and Collins, Model Language Studio, the Edith and Emery Bernauer Scholarship Fund and the Playhouse Parent’s Association.
