The 2014 opening night of the Hollywood Bowl is just a few weeks away and there are plenty of reasons to buy tickets before the event sells out.

Award-winning actress and singer Lea Michele is confirmed to perform a duet with Kristin Chenoweth when Chenoweth is inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at the opening night – Saturday, June 21, at 8 pm.

The two first performed together on the television series “Glee” in 2009, when Chenoweth’s recurring character “April Rhodes” and Michele’s “Rachel Berry” sang “Maybe This Time” from Cabaret.

In addition to her continuing role on “Glee,” Michele released her highly anticipated album Louder in March of this year.

Louder debuted at No. 1 on iTunes and in the top 5 on Billboard charts.

This month Michele lent her vocal talents to the animated 3D musical Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, playing the lead role of “Dorothy.” Also in May, Lea released her first book, Brunette Ambition where she shares her experiences and insider tips on beauty, fashion, inner strength and more. The book is part memoir, part how-to and part style guide.

Chenoweth will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame by actress and comedienne Carol Burnett.

The Go-Go’s and Pink Martini will also be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame that evening.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame.

Chenoweth, The Go-Go’s and Pink Martini join other luminaries such as John Williams, Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra, Plácido Domingo, Liza Minnelli, B.B. King, Josh Groban, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and John Legend. Drawn from the diverse arena of musical entertainment, including classical, pop, jazz, musical theater, and film composition, new Hall of Fame honorees receive their tributes as part of the Bowl’s annual opening night celebration.

Proceeds from the evening benefit the LA Phil and its education programs, which reach more than 120,000 children, teachers and adults every year.

Each inductee will perform with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by Thomas Wilkins. Other special guests are to be announced.

Established in 2000, the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame identifies and pays tribute to artists whose unique achievements embody the spirit of the world-renowned Hollywood Bowl.

The Hall of Fame is now part of an exhibit on the main floor of the Hollywood Bowl Museum that includes photos and film of inductees over the years.

The “Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame” was conceived on behalf of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association by Wayne Baruch and Charles F. Gayton, who have created and produced all of the Hall of Fame opening concerts.

Tickets for the concert are $13 – $135, which can be purchased online at HollywoodBowl.com, at the Hollywood Bowl box office, through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000, and by credit card phone order at 323.850.2000.

The Hollywood Bowl is located at 2301 N. Highland Avenue in Hollywood.
