Actress Jane Lynch will host the 2016 People’s Choice Awards, it was announced today.
Lynch is best known for her work in Fox’s long-running TV series “Glee,” a role that earned her both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She has also won an Emmy for her role as host of NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night” and also stars in the upcoming CBS comedy “Angel From Hell,” scheduled to premiere in February 2016.
Lynch hosted the 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards in 2011.
“As a people myself, I’m thrilled to take on hosting duties of the only awards show that celebrates the choice of the people!” Lynch said.
The 2016 People’s Choice Awards will be presented at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live on Jan. 6 and will air that night on CBS.
Nominees for the awards across 65 categories will be announced Nov. 3 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.
The show is now in its 42nd year. Fans vote for their favorites in movies, music, television and digital on the official website www.PeoplesChoice.com. Potential nominees are determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music & gaming sales, social activity and PeoplesChoice.com data.
