K. Eugene Shutler has been named President of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), one of the nation’s leading orchestras renowned for its wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous commissioning initiatives. The Santa Monica resident, who joined LACO’s Board in 2002, assumed the post in July 2011.
Michael Rosen, LACO’s immediate past president, who served as president for four years, has been appointed Chairman. Rosen (a Los Angeles resident) is principal and chief investment officer at Angeles Investment Advisors.
In addition, three new members have joined LACO’s Board of Directors – Roberto Apelfeld (Santa Monica), head of International Risk Management and Portfolio Risk Analysis at Western Asset Management Company, Dana Newman (Altadena), a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, and Jamie Ohl (Los Angeles), president of Wilshire Funds Management.
