Kung Fu Spectacular-May 20th 4-5:30pm

The Shaolin Temple Cultural Center (STCC) is the official branch of the SongShan Shaolin Temple in Los Angeles. It was established on the order of Venerable Abbot Shi Yong Xin from the Shaolin Temple, with Warrior Monk Shi Yan Xu appointed as the Director in 2007.

Abbot Shi Yong Xin will visit Los Angeles on Friday, May 20th 2011. An official gathering with the Abbot, Shaolin monks, students and friends from the Shaolin Temple Cultural Center and will take place at the STCC at 4 pm, Fri May 20th, 9143 La Rosa Dr., Temple City, CA 91780.

A special Welcome Dinner Banquet with kung fu performances by Shaolin Warrior Monks will follow at 7 pm at Luminarias Restaurant, 3500 Ramona Blvd., Monterey Park CA 91754.

The Songshan Shaolin Temple is the ancestral home of Chinese Chan Buddhism, the cradle of Shaolin Martial Arts and the birthplace of Shaolin Medicine. The STCC continues the practice and teaching accumulated during the past 1,500 years of the Shaolin Temple’s history.

The mission of Shaolin Temple Cultural Center is to:

Enhance the physical, mental and spiritual wellness for anyone who wishes to learn;

Continue promoting the heritage and culture of the Songshan Shaolin Temple in the US; and

Advance intercultural understanding between East and West.
