LA Dodgers to hold Korean Night tonight

DodgersThe Los Angeles Dodgers will hold their fourth annual Korea Night tonight when they face the Texas Rangers in an interleague game at Dodger Stadium to begin a five-game homestand.

In connection with Korea Night, a special loaded Kimchi Dog will be available at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas on the field, loge and reserve levels. The Kimchi Dog is a quarter-pound all-beef Super Dodger Dog topped off with kimchi, Korea’s national dish, which is a spicy and sour side dish made of vegetables with a variety of seasonings.

The Korean rock band YB will perform a four-song mini-concert, followed by the Korean and U.S. national anthems. The Korean recording artist CL, a member of the group 2NE1, will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

CL will sign autographs in the Korea Tourism Organization tent in the right field plaza beginning at 7:30 p.m., while YB will sign autographs beginning at 8 p.m.

Both Military Heroes of the Game are U.S. Army members who were awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded during the Korean War.

Joseph A. Del Rio is now the commander of the Long Beach Chapter 210 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Roman Morales and his fellow members of the 40th Infantry Division built a high school to honor the first American casualty of the Korea War.

Korean Consul General Hyun-myung Kim will present commemoration plaques to Del Rio and Morales.

The first 40,000 fans will receive a beach bag.

Kenny Landreaux, an outfielder on the Dodgers’ 1981 World Series championship team, will sign autographs in the left field pavilion plaza from 5- 7 p.m.

Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. for the 7:10 p.m. game. Pregame ceremonies will begin at 6:45 p.m.
