LOS ANGELES EPICUREAN FESTIVAL

On Sunday, August 28, 2011, the Los Angeles Epicurean Festival at Sofitel LA will bring together culinary specialties and extraordinary wines & spirits, under one roof in a casual setting. Products that usually only available to professional Chefs will be available to the general public. Attendees will be able to pair and compare, taste and take home their favorite selections.

LA Epicurean Cup challenge with three culinary students, three chefs, three sommeliers and three mixeologists judged by a panel of prominent food-industry personalities:

• Michel Richard, Chef/Owner of Citronelle and Central in Washington DC;

• Josiah Citrin, Chef/Owner of Melisse in Santa Monica;
• Sophie Gayot of GAYOT.com, Food Writer/Owner;

• Franck Savoy, Director of Restaurants of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

• Michel Cornu, Culinary Director of Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley.

Each chef will retrieve ten Festival products of their choice to formulate the perfect cold appetizer, each sommelier will than find the perfect wine to pair from the Festival for that dish, each mixeologist will concoct a tasty and artistic cocktail with five ingredients from the Festival; the theme is: “summer time†.

Food Demonstrations by some of LA’s leading chefs will be presented every hour. Demonstrators include:
Keizo Ishiba, Chef/Owner of K-Zo Restaurant(Culver City)
JF Meteigner, Chef/Owner of La Cachette Bistro(Santa Monica)
Sebastien Archambault, Chef/Owner of l’Epicerie(Culver City)
Marius Blin, Executive Chef at the Sofitel LA

Michel Richard will be signing copies of his latest book “Sweet Magic”.

Mixeology Classes will be available and Oenologists will explain how to taste and recognize great wines.

Over 500 boutique wines and spirits, cheeses, spices, coffee & teas, charcuterie, olive oils, mushrooms, organic chocolate, meat, fowl, fish, produce and much more….

Live Entertainment by various artists.
