After nearly 12 years of public service with Los Angeles World Airport her last role there as the Executive Director, Lydia Kennard will return to KDG Development & Construction Consulting as its President and Chief Executive Officer.
KDG was founded in 1980 as an offshoot of the architectural firm that began in 1957 by Ms. Kennard’s late father, the renowned African-American architect Robert Kennard. Jack Wickersham will continue in his current role as Chief of Operations. Sam Reeves, who will step down as KDG’s President and CEO effective June 1, 2011 will remain a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.
Ms. Kennard holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and management from Stanford University, a master’s degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a juris doctorate from Harvard University. She served in various capacities at Los Angeles World Airports from 1994 through 2003 and returned in 2005 to early 2007 to undertake specific initiatives directed by then Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
In 2007, Ms. Kennard returned to KDG to take an active role in both the marketing and financial management of the firm. She also currently chairs the firm’s Board of Directors.
