Movieguide’s Annual Faith and Values Award Gala honors the best family friendly movies and television programs. Now in its 32nd year, it’s the largest long-running international non-profit ministry dedicated to redeeming the values of the entertainment industry.

Among this year’s winners were: “Miracles from Heaven” (Best Movies for Families), “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors” (Most Inspiring Program) and Melissa Joan Hart was selected as Best Actress for her role in “God’s Not Dead 2.”

Pat Robertson, founder of the “700 Club,” received the Lifetime Achievement Award for communicating and living the Good News. It was a special evening of love, hope and inspiration for us all.

At another award show, Annette Bening received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Casting Society’s 32nd Annual Artios Awards.  Joel McHale hosted the event at the Beverly Hilton, and a cadre of celebrated presenters included J.J.Abrams, Peter MacNicol, Chrissy Metz and Lily Collins. Bening was with her husband Warren Beatty. Elle Fanning, Bening’s co-star in “20th Century Women,” presented the Lynn Stalmaster Award with a heartfelt speech to the four-time Oscar nominee.

The incomparable “La La Land” was the winner of the Big Budget Comedy  (casting by Deborah Aquila and Tricia Wood), and “Hidden Figures” won the Drama Award for casting directors Victoria Thomas and Jackie Burch.
“Transparent” won the Best TV Series Comedy, and the award was presented to casting director Eyde Belasco.  As the saying goes, “Casting can make or break a show” and the Artios Awards are given to those highly skilled and often overlooked pros.

And last but not least, musician, artist and photographer Julian Lennon and gallery owner and photographer Timothy White, hosted the “Winners” exhibit at the Morrison Hotel Gallery at the Sunset Marquis Hotel. The event celebrated all the artists who have been nominated or won a Grammy and/or Oscar.
Some of the images included Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and Audrey Hepburn. Vintage Trouble provided music for the event, and some of the celebrated guests included Arsenio Hall, Cuba Gooding Jr., Bai Ling and Jeff Goldblum.

This star-studded exhibit is open to the public through Feb. 28.  It’s a must-see for film buffs and music fans li
