NOT STANDARD, at the Tobey C. Moss Gallery October 1, 2011 through December 29, 2011, is a collection of artists who have had an enduring presence at the 33-year-old gallery.
As part of the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980, NOT STANDARD brilliantly captures the essence of the foundation of the Los Angeles art scene.
Painters, sculptures, assemblage artists and printmakers, who did not form a school or adhere to a particular style but shared the independent creative spirit of California Modernism, will be shown.
Among the featured artists are: Lorser Feitelson, Helen Lundeberg, John McLaughlin, and Gordon Wagner.
