The People’s Games provides non-professional athletes an opportunity to live out the dream of representing their city in a premiere athletic competition. The inaugural event is a best-of-three game basketball series, NYC vs. LA, showcasing the top amateur talent the cities have to offer.
Throughout March, the best players from both coasts vied for a chance to represent for one of the 20 team spots available on their city’s team. Now, it’s time for their first transcontinental contest; May 8, 2011 at the Venice Beach Basketball Courts, 1905 Ocean Front Walk in Venice. The game will begin at 3pm. Games two and three will be played in New York City on May 10 and May 11(if needed).
